Privacy Notice
Last updated: November 1, 2026
In short: we collect what you type into our forms, plus basic technical data needed to run and protect the site. We use it to respond to you and make introductions you agree to. We don’t sell it, we don’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and we keep form submissions for up to 24 months after our last contact with you and technical logs for up to 90 days.
This notice explains how DataLicense Co ("DLC", "we", "us") handles information about visitors to this website. It covers the website only. DLC is a referral company: we do not own, access, verify, store, sell or transfer any customer datasets, and any data exchanged between a buyer and a seller is governed solely by their own agreements and their own privacy obligations.
1. Information we collect
Information you submit
- Data owner inquiry form: your name, company, role, email address, phone number (optional), the kind of data your company has, and your description of it.
- Referral form: your name, email address and phone number (optional); the name of the company you are referring; the contact person you name there and any role, email or phone number you provide for them; how you know them; and any note you add.
- Your consent: that you ticked the consent box, and the date and time you submitted the form.
Technical information
- When you submit a form, we record your IP address and your browser’s user-agent (browser and device type) together with the submission, to help prevent spam and misuse.
- Like most websites, our hosting and security providers automatically process technical data when you visit, such as IP address, browser and device details, pages requested, and timestamps, in standard server and security logs.
What we don’t collect
We do not use advertising trackers, analytics trackers, or advertising or tracking cookies on this website. We do not ask for, and you should not send, actual datasets, samples, personal information about other people beyond a referral contact, or confidential files.
2. How we use it
- To review and respond to your inquiry or referral.
- To make introductions between data owners and potential buyers, only where you have agreed to the introduction.
- To contact a person you referred, mention your introduction, and keep you updated.
- To operate, maintain and secure the website, and to detect and prevent spam, fraud and abuse.
- To keep a record of our communications, and to comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
We do not sell the information you submit, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Sharing
- Introductions: with a prospective buyer or seller, only when we make an introduction you have agreed to, and only the details needed for that introduction.
- Service providers: with companies that host this website, store form submissions, and deliver email for us, who process it on our behalf.
- Legal reasons: where required by law or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety or property of DLC or others.
Once you are introduced to another party, what that party does with information you share with it is governed by its own policies, not this notice.
4. How long we keep it
- Form submissions (including the IP address and user-agent stored with them) are kept for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless you ask us to delete them sooner or we must keep them longer by law.
- Technical and security logs are kept for up to 90 days.
After these periods, the information is deleted.
5. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the information you submitted, or to stop contacting you. To make a request, use the inquiry form on this website and say what you would like us to do. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law.
6. Security
The website is served over an encrypted connection, and submissions are stored with access restricted to DLC. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children
This website is intended for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has submitted information, tell us through the inquiry form and we will delete it.
8. Changes
We may update this notice. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
